Southern Manners Restaurant - A hidden Breakfast gem

Intro

It was a rainy, cold, and seriously early morning. I woke up in a cold sweat ready to feast as I usually do. And since I woke up so unusually early, I decided to use my extra time to go out and enjoy a breakfast somewhere. I originally planned on going to Waffle House located at nearby Columbus, North Carolina, but found a peculiar little dot on Google maps only six minuets away from my home! Southern Manners, located at 2915 Highway 14 East, is an almost middle of no where breakfast spot sat exactly right below the border line. This homely and welcoming restaurant sure captured my attention for a while, so let me tell you a little bit about Southern Manners Restaurant.

Food - 5/5

Ok folks, you got me here. This is just about the best Southern Breakfast Cookin’ you can get round’ these parts. I ordered a tasty cheese and bacon omelette. The bacon was crispy and fresh, and the eggs were fluffy and soft. I like hot sauce on anything egg, and to my dismay, they didn’t have tabasco sauce. Instead they gave me this… Crystal? Which I sure am glad they did, because it was leagues better than any ol’ tabasco sauce! It really pulled the whole dish together. As shown, it came with a side of hash browns as well as French toast. The hashbrowns were by far the best hashbrowns I’ve ever had, and the French toast was sweet, buttery and incredibly tangy. This amazing, home-cooked Breakfast earns the Southern Manners Restaurant a 5/5 in the Food catagory.

Service and wait - 4.5/5

The staff were all younger, but not in a bratty self-serving way. But humble, and understanding. Such as when my coffee was low and a nice gentleman came around and poured me some more, when I wasn’t expecting more coffee! They were all truly understanding and catering to my needs. The wait took a little while, but not long considering the sheer amount of customers in. I’d say, about 15-20 minutes of wait time. Quick, snappy, and kind service and wait awards them a 4.5/5.

Atmosphere - 5/5

This location is a well-built restaurant that feels as homely and comforting as it gets without being an actual house. The colors are muted and woody. A couple tapestries and posters give it a sense of flavor and, well, southern manners. Tables and chairs are nice, as nice as wood gets. Yeah, lots of wood. What really gives this place it’s atmosphere is it’s location, nestled in between two thickly wooded areas separated from the hustle and bustle of the world. You really feel at peace, like you’re over at someone’s home rather then at a restaurant in a busy area. Overall, the country aesthetic, accommodating feel, and location gives the atmosphere portion of this article a 5/5.

Conclusion and final rating - 5/5

I mean really. Everything about this place plays into my likes and tastes. If you are looking for a delicious breakfast that’s great for all ages and perfect for a family day out, this is certainly the place. Fresh, tasty food and a lovely time in general. I for sure will be visiting in the future and would recommend it to anyone passing through the Landrum area! I hope you have enjoyed my review of Southern Manners Restaurant. Until next time.
